What is an eSIM?
An eSIM is a SIM card built into your phone. Instead of swapping a plastic card, you download a plan, and your phone adds a second line for mobile data. Your regular number and SIM keep working alongside it.
Does my phone support eSIM?
Most phones from 2019 on do: iPhone XS and later, Google Pixel 3 and later, and recent Samsung Galaxy S, Z and A models. The FoxySim app checks your device for you before you buy, and the phone must be carrier-unlocked.
How do I install the eSIM?
Buy a plan in the app, then tap Install. On iPhone the plan installs directly; on Android you scan the QR code from the app in Settings. It takes about a minute and you can do it at home on Wi-Fi before you travel.
When does the plan start?
Your validity starts the first time the eSIM connects to a network in the destination, not when you buy it. So you can install it days before you fly.
Can I keep my number and use WhatsApp?
Yes. Your physical SIM stays in the phone for calls and texts, and WhatsApp, Telegram and other apps keep working on your existing number over the eSIM's data.
What if I run out of data?
Top up from the app at any time. Top-ups are added to the same eSIM, so there is nothing new to install.
Is there a contract or subscription?
No. Every plan is prepaid with a fixed amount of data and a fixed validity. When it ends, it ends. Buy again only when you need it.
